Shervin J. Korangy appointed CEO of Fresenius Medical Care, effective October 12

Fresenius Medical Care's Supervisory Board unanimously appointed Shervin J. Korangy as Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Management Board, effective October 12, 2026. He succeeds Helen Giza, who served as CEO for four years after previously acting as CFO. Korangy, a former member of the company's Supervisory Board since 2023, brings extensive healthcare leadership experience from his tenure as CEO of BVI Medical and roles at Novartis and Blackstone. The appointment marks a strategic transition to accelerate long-term profitable growth following the successful implementation of the FME25+ transformation program, which reduced costs by approximately EUR 1.2 billion. Ann Custin has been identified as Korangy's successor on the Supervisory Board. Fresenius Medical Care is the world's leading provider of products and services for individuals with renal diseases.
