GPREGreen Plains Inc.
Green Plains Inc. entered into a Tax Credit Purchase Agreement with two unaffiliated institutional counterparties to transfer Clean Fuel Production Tax Credits (Section 45Z) generated from its ethanol production facilities during the 2026 calendar year. The agreement commits buyers to purchase a minimum of $250 million in credits, with an aggregate maximum of $325 million, subject to generation and availability based on current carbon intensity scores. Green Plains expects to receive $140 million in cash proceeds during the fourth quarter of 2026 for credits generated through June 30, 2026, with remaining proceeds expected in the first half of 2027 following compliance reporting. The transaction provides increased visibility into cash generation and flexibility to strengthen the balance sheet. Green Plains Inc. is a leading producer of low-carbon biofuels and value-added products.
