Green Plains Inc. reported second quarter 2026 financial results, posting net income of $67.1 million ($0.83 diluted EPS) compared to a $72.2 million loss in the prior year period. Revenues decreased 19.3% to $446.2 million due to lower volumes and the disposition of the Obion, Tennessee plant. Adjusted EBITDA surged to $93.3 million from $16.4 million, driven by a $58.7 million recognition of Section 45Z production tax credits net of discounts and costs, alongside improved ethanol crush margins of $95.1 million. The company sold 160.7 million gallons of ethanol with 88% plant utilization and reduced SG&A expenses by 21%. Green Plains operates in the biorefining industry, producing low-carbon biofuels and high-value ingredients.
