On September 8, 2026, GRI Bio announced new translational biomarker data from its Phase 2a study of GRI-0621 (oral tazarotene) in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The data demonstrated a repair phenotype characterized by immune re-balancing, myofibroblast inhibition, and net basement membrane repair across four independent measurement modalities. Placebo-adjusted forced vital capacity increased by 99 mL overall and 139 mL in patients on background standard-of-care therapy. Treatment-related cough was 0% versus 25% for placebo, and diarrhea occurred in 17% of treated patients compared to 33%. The company plans to advance GRI-0621 into a longer-duration study. GRI Bio is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing therapies for inflammatory, fibrotic, and autoimmune diseases.
