On July 30, 2026, Keros Therapeutics announced it will receive a $20 million development milestone payment from partner Takeda Pharmaceuticals. This payment is triggered by the dosing of the first patient in the ELRiSE MDS clinical trial, a Phase 3 study evaluating elritercept for anemia associated with myelodysplastic syndromes. Under the global license agreement effective January 16, 2025, Keros previously received a $200 million upfront payment and retains eligibility for up to $1.1 billion in additional milestones plus tiered royalties. The company intends to distribute 25% of the net cash proceeds from this milestone to stockholders following receipt.
