On September 1, 2026, Louisiana-Pacific Corporation announced it will indefinitely curtail oriented strand board (OSB) production at its Jasper, Texas facility beginning in October 2026 due to soft demand and challenging market conditions. The facility has an annual capacity of approximately 475 million square feet on a 3/8-inch basis. LP expects to incur one-time severance and other costs estimated between $4 million and $6 million in 2026 related to the curtailment. CEO Jason Ringblom stated the decision aligns production with current demand while maintaining flexibility for future restarts if conditions improve. The company will provide career transition support to affected employees. Louisiana-Pacific Corporation manufactures engineered wood products, including siding, structural solutions, and OSB, for builders and homeowners.
