Reports $265M Q3 net income, plans NZ facility idling and $300M bond redemption
MEOHMethanex Corp
Methanex reported third-quarter 2026 net income of $265 million ($3.42 per diluted share), up from $198 million in the prior quarter, driven by strong pricing and lower impairment charges compared to Q2. Adjusted EBITDA was $543 million, while production reached 2.14 million tonnes. The company announced it will indefinitely idle its New Zealand facilities starting in early 2027 after selling natural gas entitlements, resulting in a $10 million restructuring accrual. Additionally, Methanex redeemed $300 million of bonds due in October 2027 and approved a normal course issuer bid to repurchase up to 3.87 million shares through November 2027. The company is the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol.
