National Presto posts $2.79 EPS for Q3 on defense sales surge

National Presto Industries reported third-quarter net earnings of $19.98 million, or $2.79 per share, compared to $5.32 million, or $0.74 per share, in the prior-year period. Net sales rose 25% to $144.3 million from $115.5 million, driven by a $29 million increase in defense segment shipments. The Housewares/Small Appliances segment saw nominal sales growth and returned to profitability with $8.1 million in operating earnings, aided by a tariff refund. National Presto manufactures small household appliances, pressure cookers, ammunition, ordnance items, fuzes, smoke alarms, and fire extinguishers.
