National Presto Industries reported second quarter 2026 net sales of $146.6 million and net earnings per share of $2.21, compared to $120.4 million in sales and $0.72 per share in the prior year period. Defense segment sales rose $27.1 million (27.2%) due to increased shipments from backlog, driving operating earnings up 33.5%. Housewares/Small Appliances sales declined $1.2 million (6.2%) as tariff-related timing shifts and higher retail prices depressed consumer demand; however, the segment generated $2.2 million in operating earnings, largely from a Supreme Court-ordered refund of unauthorized tariffs. The Safety segment reported an anticipated loss despite nominal sales growth. For the first half of 2026, net sales reached $265.2 million with net earnings per share of $3.14.
