Brazil approves R$1.00 per liter diesel subsidy for producers under Provisional Measure No. 1,391
PBRPetrobras - Petroleo Brasileiro SA
Petrobras announced that its Board of Directors approved the company's participation in a new economic subsidy program for diesel fuel producers and importers established by Provisional Measure No. 1,391. The Ministry of Finance Ordinance sets the subsidy at R$1.00 per liter of road-use Grade A diesel fuel for an initial period of 30 days, which may be extended. This benefit is cumulative with the existing subsidy under Provisional Measure No. 1,363/2026, which provides R$1.12 per liter. The effective execution depends on the publication and review of applicable regulations. Petrobras maintains its commercial strategy focused on market share and sustainable profitability while avoiding immediate pass-through of international price volatility to domestic prices. Petrobras is an integrated energy company operating in the oil and gas industry.
