Court dismisses ParkerVision's expedited appeal against Qualcomm, remands patent infringement case to district court
PRKRParkervision Inc
ParkerVision announced that the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit dismissed its expedited appeal against Qualcomm for lack of jurisdiction and remanded the patent infringement case back to the Middle District of Florida. The appellate court declined to rule on the merits of the receiver claim construction, leaving it to the district court's discretion how to proceed. ParkerVision intends to pursue a jury trial for infringement of its transmitter patent claims, with expert reports indicating damages of approximately $440 million excluding interest. The company also plans to preserve the right to appeal the receiver claim construction ruling following a final ruling in the transmitter case. ParkerVision is an innovator in radio-frequency technologies used in advanced wireless communication systems.
