Aptera Motors Corp. announced a strategic partnership with Shanghai Launch Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. to accelerate high-volume production of its solar electric vehicles. The agreement involves a production program valued at up to approximately $44 million, covering assembly fixtures, tooling, testing, and pilot production for the first 40 units, targeting construction in Q4 2026. Aptera will pay two-thirds of costs in cash, while Launch receives warrants for the remaining third, valued at up to $15 million. This arrangement provides access to Launch’s global supply chain and aims to reduce bill-of-materials costs. Aptera Motors Corp. operates in the solar mobility industry, designing and manufacturing efficient solar electric vehicles.
