San Juan Basin Royalty Trust suspends October distribution due to $12.4M excess costs and low gas prices
SJTSan Juan Basin Royalty Trust
The San Juan Basin Royalty Trust will not declare a monthly cash distribution for October 2026 because cumulative excess production costs, totaling approximately $12.4 million gross ($9.3 million net), exceed current royalty income. The deficit decreased by roughly $130,000 gross from the prior month due to August revenues of $4.87 million against production costs of $4.74 million. Distributions will resume only after net proceeds repay the excess cost balance, replenish a $2 million reserve, and service the Trust's line of credit, which currently stands at $1.16 million. The Trust operates in the energy sector as a royalty trust holding interests in oil and natural gas production.
