Tripadvisor sells TheFork to American Express for $700M in all-cash deal

TripAdvisor consummated the sale of its European online restaurant reservation and management platform, TheFork, to American Express Travel Related Services Company for $700 million in cash. The transaction closes on November 1, 2026, pursuant to an agreement dated August 2, 2026. Concurrently, TripAdvisor entered a 12-month Transition Services Agreement to assist with the handover. This significant disposition allows the company to focus on its core travel review and booking operations.
