UCBUnited Community Banks Inc

United Community Banks, Inc. completed the sale of Navitas Credit Corp. and NLFC Reinsurance Corp for approximately $2.0 billion in proceeds on September 1, 2026. The company also finalized a strategic balance sheet repositioning involving the reclassification of $2.2 billion in held-to-maturity securities to available-for-sale and the sale of roughly $2.6 billion in lower-yielding investment securities. These actions are intended to reduce interest rate risk and improve liquidity, with proceeds initially redeployed into cash and short-duration securities yielding approximately 4.5%. The company expects to recognize a pre-tax loss of approximately $300 million from the repositioning, net of a $64 million gain on the Navitas sale. Additionally, the Board authorized a $100 million increase to the share repurchase program through December 2027. United Community Banks, Inc. is a financial holding company providing banking, mortgage, and wealth management services across the Southeastern United States.
