On June 30, 2026, Vistagen Therapeutics announced that its PALISADE-4 Phase 3 trial of intranasal fasedienol for acute social anxiety disorder failed to meet its primary endpoint. The least squares mean change from baseline on the Subjective Units of Distress Scale (SUDS) was -9.5 for fasedienol versus -11.4 for placebo (p=0.427), and no treatment difference was found for secondary endpoints. However, a post-hoc analysis of a subpopulation with very severe social anxiety (LSAS score ≥ 95) showed nominal statistical significance (p=0.036). The company plans to pivot its regulatory strategy toward a potential registrational pathway focused on the overall treatment of social anxiety disorder and believes cash resources will support operations into 2027. Vistagen is a biopharmaceutical company developing pherine product candidates for CNS disorders.
