Oncolytics Biotech announced updated data from Cohort 4 of its Phase 1/2 GOBLET study, evaluating pelareorep combined with atezolizumab in patients with second-line or later squamous cell anal cancer. The median duration of response was approximately 15 months, exceeding the historical benchmark of 9.5 months for FDA-approved retifanlimab monotherapy. All responding patients survived beyond one year, with several surviving over two years. Median overall survival has not yet been reached. Following recent FDA interactions and receipt of Fast Track Designation, the company plans to explore additional clinical studies to support registrational development in anal cancer and potential expansion into HPV-associated head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
