TC Energy announced that Coastal GasLink Phase 2 will proceed following LNG Canada’s positive Final Investment Decision for its facility expansion. This development satisfies the conditions of TC Energy's previously approved conditional FID, allowing the project to move forward. The phase aims to nearly double the pipeline's existing capacity of approximately 2.1 Bcf/d by adding compressor stations and upgrading facilities along the 670-kilometre route from Dawson Creek to Kitimat. Construction is expected to commence in early 2030s, with LNG Canada leading construction as Phase 2 Execution Manager while TC Energy retains ownership and operation. The project supports growing global demand for Canadian natural gas exports.
