Emergent BioSolutions Inc. announced it has received a contract modification exercising an option period under its existing indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) delivery order, valued at up to $22.3 million. The agreement obligates the company to supply BioThrax (Anthrax Vaccine Adsorbed) to the U.S. Department of War for use by all branches of the military as pre-exposure prophylaxis against anthrax disease. The first delivery, valued at approximately $7.4 million, is scheduled to begin in 2026, with remaining deliveries expected throughout 2027. This award builds upon previous government contracts, including a recent $24 million modification for CYFENDUS supplied to the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA). Emergent BioSolutions Inc. develops and manufactures vaccines and therapeutics to protect against biological threats.
