EU designates Eldorado Gold's Skouries mine as a Strategic Project under Critical Raw Materials Act

The European Commission has designated Eldorado Gold’s Skouries copper-gold mine in northern Greece as a Strategic Project under the EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act. The designation recognizes the project's role in strengthening domestic supply chains for critical raw materials and enhancing long-term supply security, particularly for copper which is essential for electrification and renewable energy infrastructure. Located in the Halkidiki region, Skouries recently began operations and represents more than US$2 billion of investment over its approximately 20-year mine life.
