GSK plc announced the US FDA approval of Utebzi (tebipenem pivoxil), the first and only oral carbapenem antibiotic for treating complicated urinary tract infections (cUTIs) in adults. The approval is based on the PIVOT-PO phase III trial, which demonstrated non-inferiority compared to intravenous imipenem-cilastatin.
