Sigma Lithium was selected by Nasdaq to ring the closing bell during United Nations Climate Week in New York, marking five years since its listing and recognizing its sustainability leadership in critical minerals. The company also disclosed a preliminary judicial ruling concerning its environmental licenses related to surface rights and potential land expropriation from small-scale farmers near its Grota do Cirilo operation in Brazil. Sigma Lithium strongly contests the ruling, citing lack of due process and technical evidence showing operations are more than 12 kilometers from the claimed Quilombola community, exceeding the relevant legal threshold. The company confirmed that mining and industrial operations continue normally and that its mineral rights remain unaffected by the dispute, which carries a potential R$100,000 penalty for non-compliance. Sigma Lithium operates as an industrial-mineral producer of lithium oxide concentrate in Brazil.
