Franklin BSP Realty Trust announced a leadership transition effective September 16, 2026. Michael Comparato resigned as Chief Executive Officer to spend more time with his family and will serve as a Senior Advisor at Benefit Street Partners through 2027. Richard J. Byrne was reappointed as CEO and continues to serve as Chairman of the Board; he previously held the role from 2016 to February 2026. Jerome S. Baglien, currently CFO and COO, was appointed Co-President alongside Brian Buffone and will lead BSP’s Commercial Real Estate Debt platform. The company operates in the commercial real estate debt industry, originating, acquiring, and managing a diversified portfolio of secured loans.
