Accendra Health appoints Kenneth Gardner-Smith as CEO with $6M equity grant

Accendra Health announced the appointment of Kenneth Gardner-Smith as its next President and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Edward A. Pesicka who is retiring. Gardner-Smith, a current board member since March 2022, will assume the role early in the fourth quarter of 2026. His compensation package includes a $1 million annual base salary, a target bonus of 130% of base, and equity awards with a fair value of $6 million split between restricted stock units and performance share units. He also receives a $650,000 sign-on bonus and a $2 million inducement grant of cash-settled stock appreciation rights. Additionally, Scott Lloyd was named Chief Commercial Officer effective October 5, 2026, to consolidate commercial strategy and sales leadership. Accendra Health operates in the home-based healthcare sector, providing products and services for chronic conditions through brands like Apria and Byram.
