AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo announced that the European Commission approved Datroway (datopotamab deruxtecan) for the first-line treatment of adult patients with unresectable or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer who are not candidates for immunotherapy. The approval is based on the TROPION-Breast02 Phase III trial, which demonstrated a statistically significant 5.0-month improvement in median overall survival (23.7 months versus 18.7 months) and a 43% reduction in the risk of disease progression or death compared to chemotherapy. Datroway is now approved for two breast cancer indications in the EU.
