Caterpillar Inc. announced that Executive Chairman D. James Umpleby III will resign from the Board effective April 1, 2026, at which time current CEO Joseph E. Creed will assume the role of Chairman. The company also plans to decrease its Board size from ten to nine directors effective April 1, 2026.
