Ecopetrol S.A. announced that Juan Carlos Hurtado Parra will retire effective September 15, 2026, concluding his tenure as Executive Vice President of Hydrocarbons and Acting Chief Executive Officer. The Board appointed Alfonso Camilo Barco Muñoz as the new Acting Chief Executive Officer on the same date. Mr. Barco currently serves as Corporate Vice President of Finance and Sustainable Value and brings over 35 years of executive experience in investment banking, corporate finance, and governance within the energy sector. Ecopetrol is Colombia's largest integrated energy company, responsible for over 60% of the nation's hydrocarbon production and holding significant stakes in power transmission and infrastructure across Latin America.
