Standard Lithium Ltd., through its Smackover Lithium partnership with Equinor, amended its binding offtake agreement with Trafigura to include an option for up to an additional 4,000 metric tonnes per year of battery-quality lithium carbonate. This brings the maximum potential volume under the Trafigura contract to 12,000 metric tonnes annually over a ten-year term. Combined with a separate take-or-pay agreement with LG Energy Solution for 8,000 metric tonnes per year, total customer commitments now reach 20,000 metric tonnes per year, exceeding the project's initial target of securing off-take for approximately 80% of its 22,500-tonne nameplate capacity. These commitments provide sufficient backing to finalize a targeted $1.1 billion senior secured debt financing package with three major Export Credit Agencies. The company aims to make a Final Investment Decision later this year and begin construction, targeting first commercial production in 2029. Standard Lithium Ltd. is a lithium development company focused on sustainable direct lithium extraction from brine resources in the United States.
